Fatimah Aiyegbajeje

Fatimah bint Shaakir Aiyegbajeje is a dedicated educator with a passion for teaching Quran and Islamic studies to women and children.

 

Her journey in seeking knowledge has driven her to create opportunities for others, ensuring they have access to female teachers and comprehensive Islamic education.

Raabi’ah Bakre

Ustadha Raabi’ah is one of our success stories at Recite and Ascend Academy. She started off as a student , passed through all the levels of tajweed courses, and also completed her memorization of the Quran. She’s since then been giving of her knowledge to women in her local community by holding quran and tajweed classes in her living room. She has also volunteered with women only institutes to teach the same.

Being a homeschooling Mother of 4, Raabi’ah has a special way of connecting with children, and she does so effortlessly with the little ones placed in her care at the Academy. She teaches the foundation of Quran recitation, Quran memorization, and Islamic studies to children from the age of  5 years old.

She’s not only passionate about teaching, but she also cares about each child’s welfare as if they were hers and makes an effort to support their learning and growth as much as possible.
She hopes to become certified in all the 10 riwayats of the Qura’n in the nearest future.

Hassana Saheed-Elelu

Ustadha Hassana was born and brought up in Saudi Arabia, she’s always had a love for the Qur’an and Arabic Language. She’s a haafidha who holds an ijaazah in the Recitation of Aasim with an authorized certification granting her permjssjon to teach Qur’an recitation and memorization with tajweed.

She has a PHD in Arabic literature. She’s taught Quran, Islamic Studies and Arabic language in different capacities across all levels of education and currently teaches the same subjects at our Academy.

Maimunah Yaqub

Ustadha Mainunah has an Ijaazah in Quran memorization, Muqaddimah Al-Jazariyyah, Qasidatul Khaqaaniyya and a certification in psychology and teaching methodology.

Maimunah is a highly skilled Quranic teacher with extensive experience and a natural ability to connect with students of all ages and backgrounds.
She teaches Tajweed and Quran memorization at our Academy.

Anisat Alayode Balogun

Ustadha Anisat was raised at a young age upon the Qur’an; she has participated in different Qur’an competitions across different categories both at the local and National levels.

With a 15-year teaching experience in Qur’an Memorization and Recitation, she tactically teaches, trains and mentors her students to become proficient reciters and memorisers of the Qura’n.

Khadijha Buhari

Khadijha is a ḥāfiẓah who developed a deep love for teaching the Qur’an during her Thanawiyah (high school) years in Saudi Arabia. During that time, she served as a presenter for her school’s Qur’an radio program in Arabic and actively organized and led Qur’anic and Islamic programs.

She later enrolled in a Qur’an college (Iʿdād al-Muʿallimāt) in Saudi Arabia, where her passion for Qur’anic sciences grew stronger. By the grace of Allah, she holds an ijāzah in the recitation of ʿĀṣim and has been teaching the Qur’an since her high school days.

Khadijha is now pursuing a Master’s degree in Arabic Language. She teaches Qur’an with a focus on memorisation and tajwīd, always aiming to foster a calm, respectful, and motivating environment for her students.

Jameelah Balogun

Jameelah is a hafidhah who has been blessed to learn from a variety of teachers over the years. This has given her insight into different learning and teaching approaches, which she draws on to support her students in a way that suits them best.

She is currently beginning her journey in studying the ten Qirā’āt and hopes to continue growing in her connection with the Qur’an. She teaches memorisation and tajwīd with a gentle approach, aiming to create a calm and encouraging learning environment.

Abdulrauf Ahmad Alafara

Abdulrauf Ahmad Alafara is a dedicated and academically distinguished individual with a strong background in both Islamic and Western education. He is a proud holder of the Thanawi certificate, reflecting his solid foundation in Arabic language, Qur’an, Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence), and other core Islamic sciences.

With over 10 years of teaching experience, Ahmad has been passionately involved in the instruction of Qur’an, Arabic (Arabiyyah), and Fiqh, nurturing students of various age groups and backgrounds. His commitment to teaching stems from a deep love for Islamic knowledge and a desire to shape morally upright and well-informed individuals.

In addition to his Islamic qualifications, Ahmad is also a first-class graduate of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Statistics. He graduated as the best graduating student of the Statistics Department in the 2023/2024 academic session, a testament to his discipline, intellect, and academic excellence.

Ahmad’s unique blend of Islamic learning and academic training positions him as a well-rounded educator and a valuable contributor to both academic and religious circles. His vision is to continue growing in both fields, with a particular focus on imparting Islamic knowledge to others and fostering a love for the Qur’an and the Arabic language.

Al-Faruqiy

Faruq has been teaching Qur’an, Arabic, and Islamic Studies to students of all ages—from children to adults—for nearly a decade. His journey in Islamic knowledge began at a very young age at a local madrasah in his community, where he first learned to recite the Qur’an.

After completing secondary school, he advanced to a higher Islamic institute, where he earned his I’daadiyah certificate. His brilliance stood out early—so much so that the principal granted him a double promotion from Class 2 to Class 4, which fast-tracked his learning journey by a full academic year.

Upon graduating from the madrasah, he gained admission into the University of Lagos to study Mathematics and Education. Even while pursuing his university degree, he remained deeply committed to Islamic learning—studying under various scholars and seizing every opportunity to grow.

During this time, he also completed a two-year online diploma in Islamic knowledge and attended several scholarly seminars, where he studied core texts across subjects like Aqeedah, Hadith, Fiqh, Tafseer, and Seerah.
